The Tanner Kinaschuk rink made up of lead Carmen Kormos, second Daniel McCoshen, third Reese Kinaschuk and skip Tanner Kinaschuk, traveled to Strasbourg this past weekend to take part in the 2015 East Central Region Juvenile Curling Championship.

The rink, coached by Jim Kinaschuk, opened the tournament with a convincing 8-3 victory over Lumsden.

The Yorkton boys then followed that up with a come-from-behind win over Wadena thanks to a pair of steals, scoring three in the sixth and one in the seventh for a 6-3 win in which Wadena conceded.

That victory sent the Yorkton team to the finals where they once again met Wadena. This time it wasn’t even close as Tanner Kinaschuk powered his team to a big 8-2 win to become Regional champions.

The team will now travel to Nipawin this week for Provincials.
