It’s less than a month away and Kelvington is getting very excited to host the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association (SSA) 2018 Provincial Snowmobile Festival – February 23 and 24 – titled “Come play in the Stix on the old Route 66!”
The event is a fun-filled weekend including a supper, dance and of course a weekend on some of the best trails in the province.
Kelvington Residents Kim Bisschop and Bart Hartl are members on the board of the SSA and with their diligence and hard efforts, they were able to bring the Provincial Festival to Kelvington in 2018.
Locally the two gentlemen belong to the Kelvington Trailblazers Snowmobile Club and are very excited to show off the consistent work and attention that they give to their trails to the riders coming from all over the province. The club takes great pride in making the trails award winning ventures for snowmobile enthusiasts and are well-known for the excellent diligence giving in the marking, clearing and grooming of the trails.
It truly will be a family experience welcoming both adult and youth riders and that is what makes the Kelvington club unique. They are one of the very few snowmobile clubs in the country to have formed a Junior club alongside the Adult club. The Junior Trailblazers have their own youth board and take on the majority of the trail tasks alongside the adults – they even built their own shack this past year. The Kelvington Trailblazers have certainly built a model in which members young and old can work together to maintain a source of pride for the Kelvington community.
The Provincial Snowmobile Rally is a sought after annual event in Saskatchewan and the Kelvington Trailblazers look forward to making this the best one yet. Attendance is by pre-registration only and there are some spots still available. Interested parties can register online today by going to sasksnow.com.
They are anticipating a sell-out, so don’t hesitate to go online and register today.
