      More than 60 youngsters aged four years and up were registered as of last week to play with Kamsack Minor Ball this season, which began Monday.
           The Learn to Play group, for children born in 2011 and 2012, plays at the sportsground Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., said Lee Symak, president of Kamsack Minor Ball.
           Working with the young players as coaches are Kev Sumner, Louise Sumner, Jeff Parnetta, Nikki Ruf and Desiree Lorenzo and as helpers are Hillary Walter, Amy Badger, Kirk Badger and Jenna Bowes.
           The Rally Cap teams are for players born in 2008 to 2010, he said. Two teams have been formed with at least 12 players on each team. One team is called the O8s; the other, the 09s and 10s team.
           Rally Cap coaches are Lee Symak, Kevin Kitchen, Shanley Sask, Ryan Thurow, Ryan Gareau, Tyler Lorenzo, Jared Ruf and Jocelyn Symak.
           The Mosquito team is the only team that will be playing competitively. The team is one of five communities in this division of the Parkland League. The other theams are from Canora (three), Norquay, Sturgis (two) and Preeceville.
           Coaching the team are Jeremy Allard, cheerleading coach; Nick Martinuik, head coach; Jeff Smith, outfield coach; Brandon Andrychuk, batting coach and Mike Eliuk, infield coach.
           Because there were not a sufficient number of players to field a peewee team, a few peewee-age players received concession to play with the Mosquitoes, Symak said. A few Bantam-age players will be practicing only, and no Midgets had registered.
           Mosquito games start at 6 p.m., beginning on May 12 when Kamsack hosts the Canora Red team. The other games will be played May 15 versus Norquay; May 25, Sturgis One; May 29, Canora Black, and the final home game of the season will be played June 15 against Preeceville.
           The ball diamonds at the Kamsack Sportsground are looking good with sand having been added, said Kev Sumner, Kamsack recreation director. A painting bee of volunteers will be getting together on May 7 to paint the diamonds’ dugouts.
