The Yorkton Harvest sit in fifth place in the SMAAAHL standings after tying the Prince Albert Mintos on Saturday.
In the 1-1 draw at the Art Hause Centre Arena, puck-stopper Carson Bogdan was ultimately the reason why the Harvest captured a single point with a 32-save performance.
"He had a great game," said Harvest head coach Dan Cross. "He kept us in the game and made some great saves."
After Loch Morrison gave the Mintos the lead with a man advantage goal early in the opening frame, Marc Shaw tied the game up for the Harvest at the 5:07 mark of the period.
With only 24 shots on goal and a 0-for-5 power play, the Harvest's offense struggled to generate scoring chances.
"We needed to create more chances," said Cross. "If we could have got one on the power play, we would have won. So going forward we have to do a better job on capitalizing on the power play."
Connor Ingram stopped 23 of 24 shots for the Mintos.
The Harvest traveled to Beardy's the following day to play the Blackhawks. But upon their arrival they found out the Blackhawks cancelled the game because they didn't want their players who live out of town to drive in the poor weather conditions. The game will be postponed to a later date.
Before facing the Saskatoon Contacts in back-to-back games on the weekend at the Farrell Agencies Arena, the Harvest head to Wilcox on Wednesday to take on the Notre Dame Hounds.
Taking into account teams are catching up on Yorkton in the standings and the Hounds hold a 1-9-0 record, this is a game the 5-4-2-1 Harvest need to capitalize on.
"It's a game we need to win," said Cross. "I think if the bounces start going our way, we can get on a real roll. We've played some pretty good games, but we just haven't been getting the bounces."
