Harvest return to home ice tonight against Regina

The Yorkton AAA Harvest took another setback last Thursday night, a 6-2 loss to the Saskatoon Contacts at the Schroh Arena in Saskatoon.

The Yorkton AAA Harvest took another setback last Thursday night, a 6-2 loss to the Saskatoon Contacts at the Schroh Arena in Saskatoon.

The Contacts built up a 3-0 lead through the first period of play on goals by Austin Glover (2) and Rourke Chartier.

"Saskatoon came out hard," says Jeff Odgers, Harvest head coach.

After falling behind, Yorkton picked things up a bit in the second period, matching Saskatoon's goal total.

Odgers said it was a case where he wished the team played like that in the opening period.

He added that Schroh Arena in Saskatoon is also a much smaller rink.

Yorkton got one back at 18:56 of the second period from Dakota Odgers, but Glover completed the hat trick four minutes later to up the Contacts lead to 4-1. Odgers tallied again less than 30 seconds later but it was as close as the Harvest would get as two more goals would round out a 6-2 final.

Odgers said the "compete level has always been there".

Yorkton is back on home ice Nov. 16 (tonight) when they look to take two points from the Regina Pat Canadians.

Game time is 7:30 p.m., at the Farrell

Agencies Arena.

Odgers acknowledged that the Pat Canadians and Harvest have been developing a good rivalry in SMAAAHL play. One of the keys to getting back into the win column will likely come if his team is able to pull out a victory when the two teams meet, game time tonight (Nov. 16) at 7:30 p.m.
