A 5-1 deficit heading into the final frame proved to be a little too much for the Yorkton AAA Harvest to overcome Feb. 8, their fourth-last game of the AAA season.
Yorkton was able to climb back with two goals, however Notre Dame saved their best for last with four third-period goals to complete a 9-3 romp.
The Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League season now has three games remaining in the season for Yorkton.
The Argos led 2-0 after one period, scored a third goal three minutes into the second period before Yorkton got one back when Josh Odelein tallied from Tanner Lesann.
The Argos scored two more in the second period, taking a 5-1 lead into the third frame.
Yorkton cut it to 5-2 50 seconds into the third on a power play but Notre Dame put the game far out of reach with four unanswered goals before Yorkton got one back on a power play.
Levi Morin and Lynnden Pastachak each scored for the Harvest in the third period.
Odelein, Lesann and Josh Lees all had assists.
Notre Dame outshot Yorkton 44-26. Both teams operated at 20 per cent power play efficiency, Yorkton went 2-10 and the Argos were 1-5.
Spencer Bomboir took the loss in goal for Yorkton while Frank Cundiff got the 'w' for Notre Dame.
