For the second time in as many years the fourth stop on the Grand Slam of Curling Tour, the 2015 Canadian Open, took place in Yorkton from December 8-13 at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

The event saw thousands of curling fans turn up to watch the top 16 men’s and women’s teams  battle it out to be crowned Canadian Open champions.

Of the 32 teams to enter, only two would end up victorious as Toronto’s John Epping and Ottawa’s Rachel Homan stood alone at the end of the competition.

Epping defeated defending champion Brad Gushue 7-4 while Homan edged out Jennifer Jones 8-7.

Yorkton’s own Steve Laycock advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition but lost 6-4 to the eventual champion Epping.
