All of that, and more, can be experienced at this week鈥檚 sixth annual Friday Night Lights football game.聽

The game is held on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7:00 p.m.

The Yorkton Regional High School senior boys鈥 football team will face off against the Weyburn Eagles.聽

Last year, the Eagles beat the Raiders in their first match up, so the Raiders aren鈥檛 looking to let that history repeat itself.聽

鈥淭hat was the first time they beat us in five years,鈥 said Raiders head coach Roby Sharpe. 鈥淲e want to win. There鈥檚 absolutely no doubt about that. I always say in the dressing room 鈥榠f you can鈥檛 get up for this game, I can鈥檛 say anything to you.鈥欌

Because this year is the YRHS 50th anniversary, Sharpe said there would be a lot of tradition at Friday Night Lights.

鈥淭here will be guys there from the 1969 team that won the provincial championship,鈥 he said. Along with other football alumni, there will be choir and band alumni and cheerleading alumni participating in the event.聽

Half time will consist of a game between local young football players, and a mascot olympics.聽

Friday Night Lights has turned into a huge production, and it鈥檚 something that Sharpe said he never anticipated.聽

鈥淲hen I pictured what football as going to look like when I came back to Yorkton in 1999, I couldn鈥檛 have pictured that it was going to be that awesome,鈥 said Sharpe. 鈥淚t鈥檚 like a dream come true.鈥
