Yorkton is a frequent stop on any Canadian Wrestling鈥檚 Elite (CWE) tour. And last week while they were here on their 8th anniversary tour, it was no different.
CWE owner Danny Warren said on Saturday night they experienced their best show in Yorkton yet.
鈥淭he gym was packed, the crowd was loud all night. It was a lot of fun,鈥 explained Warren.
The show headlined Paul Orndorff, more commonly known as Mr. Wonderful, who is a WWE hall of famer.
鈥淔ans were really excited to meet him,鈥 said Warren. 鈥淗is table was full all night, of people wanting pictures and autographs.鈥
Orndorff, 67, even made an appearance in the ring again, which Warren said fans enjoyed.
鈥淗e knocked a young guy out. He鈥檚 still got it,鈥 said Warren.
Although they鈥檙e finished in Yorkton, the 8th anniversary tour is still making its way through Manitoba and then into Ontario. The finale will be on Saturday night in Thunder Bay.
The tour runs for a total of 16 days, which is a long time to be on the road with the same group of people.
鈥淚f you enjoy the people you鈥檙e traveling with, it鈥檚 great fun,鈥 Warren said with a laugh.
He said they generally all get along great, but as with most road trips with friends, there can be moments when people bump heads.
鈥淏ut that just adds to the aggression in the ring,鈥 said Warren.
CWE will be back in Yorkton on August 4 with a whole new tour. Their summer tour will consist of 20 events in 20 days, spanning across five provinces.
