Joshua Prychak of Canora competed at the Solestice Classic youth track-and-field event in Saskatoon on June 17, which was put on by Saskatchewan Athletics.

The event included students born in 2009 to grade 12, and was open to those who placed in the top two in regional events. Prychak qualified by finishing second in two events at regionals in Yorkton, the 50-metre dash and the 100-metre dash.

His age group at provincials was Meteor boys, which included 2008 and 2009 birthdays.

Even though he has a 2009 birthday, Prychak placed sixth out of 21 competitors in the 50-metre dash and eighth out of 21 in the 100-metres against mostly older competitors.
