The Canora Composite School senior boys basketball team travelled to Maidstone on  March 17 to take part in a 2A Boys Regional Playoff.

The first game was on Friday evening at 6 p.m. vs. the hometown Maidstone Huskies, ranked number 2 in the Province.  Canora only dressed six players for the weekend due to illness and players having other commitments, and as a result fell 97-52 to a very good team.  Nathan Bucsis led the way with 27 points.

In the consolation game on Saturday morning the boys faced Rosthern Junior College and defeated them 71-56.

Once again, Nathan Bucsis led the way with 28 points. Bryce Pelechaty contributed 15 points, Graeme Wilgosh had 10 points, Brett Popoff had eight points and Derek Barteski added six.  The boys led by two at half and eight after three quarters.  The senior boys finished the season with 12 wins and 13 losses but only graduate one player, so they look forward to an even better year next season, said coach Kim Eiteneier.
