In total, 64 Canora archers competed in Weyburn.

The NASP program has grown too big and the provincials had to be divided into two locations, said Rod Steciuk, one of the Canora coaches.

The Canora delegation enjoyed the “Sea of Red” description used by organizers and noted that they almost totally dominated the entire shooting line at the Weyburn Arena.

The North Provincial competitions were held a week earlier in Prince Albert.

Medals were “given out both ways, to the North and 鶹ýAV winners and as the true provincial standing after combining the North and 鶹ýAV scores,” said Steciuk.

Canora NASP team members won four 鶹ýAV Provincial medals. The Canora Middle School Team (grades 6-8) won the bronze medals with a score of 2,622. The Canora Elementary Team (grades four and five) won the silver medals for a score of 2,971.

Individual winners were: Alden Baron, a silver medal for a score of 272 in the Middle Boys Division, and Hayden Strelioff, a silver medal for a score of 248 in the Elementary School Boys Division.

After the north and south scores were combined and the provincial results were revealed, the Canora Elementary Team (Grades four and five) earned the silver medal and Alden Baron won the silver medal in the Middle Boys Division.
