Canora Minor Hockey Association prepares for upcoming season

The Canora Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) held its AGM (annual general meeting) on September 20, with plans in place for a total of six teams. There will be teams in IP, novice, atom and peewee divisions.

            The Canora Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) held its AGM (annual general meeting) on September 20, with plans in place for a total of six teams.

            There will be teams in IP, novice, atom and peewee divisions. Canora will have two IP teams and two atom teams, with one peewee and one novice team, said Kristen Kelbaugh, CMHA treasurer.

            The head coaches for the IP teams are Jeff Sznerch and Meridee Kopelchuk. Sznerch and Kent Hembling are the head coaches of the atom teams, with Greg Smith serving as an assistant. Smith will also be the novice head coach and Dwayne Wolkowski will be head coach of the peewee team.

            Kelly Beblow is the CMHA president and Greg Smith is the vice-president. Anita Demchuk is the secretary, with Kelbaugh serving as the treasurer.

            Cindy Sznerch is the registrar; Stacy Vangen, webmaster; Crystal Olynyk, ice scheduling co-ordinator; and Kim Wolkowski, tournament advisor.

            The trip-of-the-month committee members are: Tracey Bletsky, Michelle Hembling, Aimee Ruf and Carmen Wolkowski.

            CMHA is still seeking assistant coaches for the upcoming season. Those interested may contact Beblow.
