SSFA consists of nine districts across the province with boundaries the same as those for Saskatchewan Sport, Culture and Recreation. Parkland Valley is one of those districts.

Each year the districts organize events ranging from cribbage and shuffleboard to slo-pitch and curling and vary depending on interest.

This year, Parkland Valley hosted cribbage, whist, bank shuffleboard, bowling, Kaiser, track-and-field, poetry and short story and golf.

Provincial 55-plus Games and Canada 55-plus Games are held every second year in even years. The 2018 Provincial Games will be held July 9-11 in Moose Jaw and the Canada 55-plus Games will follow in St. John, New Brunswick August 21-24.

Over 500 competitors participated in the last provincial games held in North Battleford in 2016.

Membership in SSFA includes eligibility to participate in all district activities and advance to provincial and then Canadian competitions based on qualification.
