Bull Bodnar no match for Big Poppa Pump

Yorkton’s own Bull Bodnar returned to his home town on Tuesday, January 13 to take on wrestling superstar ‘Big Poppa Pump’ Scott Steiner in the main event of the Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE) show at Yorkdale Central School.

A mountain of a man, Bodnar attempted to intimidate Steiner to open the bout, but to no avail as Steiner returned the muscle flexing much to the delight of the jam packed gymnasium.

Bodnar then tried his hand at manhandling Steiner. This too failed, as Bodnar found out first hand why Steiner is known world-wide as one of the strongest, and meanest, men in professional wrestling when the American began to pummel the 300-plus pound Yorktonite.

Steiner then sent Bodnar to the floor, flinging the large man through the ropes with relative ease, causing Bodnar to complain loudly to the ref and everyone in attendance.

The complaining simply seemed to anger Steiner, who quickly joined Bodnar outside the ring, slamming his face against the merchanise table before striking with a chair and tossing him through a door and into the hallway.

Steiner continued to dominate the larger Bodnar, hauling him back to the ring with the hopes of ending the match quickly.

And it looked as if he would, until Bodnar took advantage of an out of position referee to deliver a low blow to Steiner resulting in a near fall.

Bodnar then began to hammer away on the former WCW and WWF star, only to have Steiner gradually fight his way back to his feet, where he then wrapped his large arms around Bodnar and delivered a devastating slam before hooking in the famous ‘Steiner Recliner’, a modified Camel Clutch, causing Bodnar to tap out or risk severe injury.
