The Bongos had beat the Sundogs two straight in round robin. PA lost an unexpected match which put them on the same side of the playoff bracket as the Bongos. The Bongos coaches thought they would meet PA in the final as opposed to the semi. The Bongos rejuvenated after the tough loss and set their sights on the bronze. They won in three sets against Roleau to bring home a provincial medal.
For a young, new club this was quite an accomplishment and the coaches look forward to next year where they hope to be running two teams. Tryouts will be in December. All schools in the GSSD and Christ the Teacher school divisions will be emailed the tryout posters again in the fall.
Thank you to Loucks Pharmacy and Canadian Tire for coming on as sponsors; joining the City of Yorkton/Sask Lotteries, Dairy Queen, Source Embroidery and Farrell Agencies in the quest to get the program financially stable. The team continues to look for sponsorship in order to run two teams next year.
Coaches Dion and Michelle Pfeifer would like to thank the players and their families for a great season and they truly look forward to growing the club in the years to come.
