The SJHL season may be over, but Bomber forward Tristan Lemyre is still getting recognition for his first junior season.

The Mirabel, Que. forward was named one of five finalists for the CJHL's Rookie of the Year award April 15, joining top first-year junior A players from across Canada.

Despite missing a good chunk of the season's first half with injuries, Lemyre stampeded to the top of the SJHL's rookie scoring rankings, finishing the year with 30 goals, 32 assists and 62 points in 44 games. Lemyre finished 12 points clear of Humboldt's Karter McNarland in the league rookie scoring race, despite playing 13 fewer games than McNarland. Lemyre was also one of the league's top scorers among all players following the holiday break.

Lemyre also finished the shortened SJHL playoffs leading all rookies in scoring, gathering two goals and six points in just four games.

In the latter days of the regular season, Lemyre was named the SJHL and Sherwood division rookie of the year. Lemyre has signed a scholarship offer from the University of Denver, one of the U.S.' top college hockey programs. He will head to Colorado in either 2021 or 2022.

鈥淗e is one of the most committed players that I have coached in my 13 years here in Flin Flon. His speed and nose for the net is tremendous. He has been a huge part of our success this year. we feel he has a very bright future in front of him,鈥 said Bombers head coach and general manager Mike Reagan in a CJHL press release.听

Joining Lemyre as a national nominee are Devon Levi, a goaltender with the CCHL's Carleton Place Canadians and Steinbach Pistons forward Carter Loney, Nicholas DeGrazia of the NOJHL's Rayside-Balfour Canadians and Buffalo Jr. Sabres forward Matteo Costantini.
