Blitz 18U win silver at SVA provincials

This weekend the Blitz 18U girls participated in the Saskatchewan Volleyball Association’s Division Two provincial championships. The girls played three round-robin matches Friday night and Saturday morning.

This weekend the Blitz 18U girls participated in the Saskatchewan Volleyball Association’s Division Two provincial championships.

The girls played three round-robin matches Friday night and Saturday morning.

In their first match Friday night they defeated West Central Wind 25-7, 25-13.

Saturday morning they defeated the Blazing Blitz 17U 25-9, 25-8 and the Prairie Selects 25-13, 25-19.

This placed girls first in their pool.

They moved to their qualifying pool and defeated RVC Rage 25-14, 25-20, Meadow Lake Spartans 25-19, 25-11 and finally White City Wildcats 25-11, 25-23.

This qualified the Blitz 18U for Tier One playoffs.

Sunday morning the girls played their quarter-final match against the Junior Sundogs from Swift Current.

The girls won the match 25-9, 25-18.

Their next opponent was Rosetown RAV in the semi finals.

The girls won that match 25-23, 25-17 to send them on to the Gold medal final.

The girls played the Lloydminster Rustlers and came up short, losing two straight 17-25, 19-25 to win the silver medal at the SVA Division Two provincial championships.

The Blitz 18U team was coached by Perry Enns and Darran Teneycke.
