Binkley-Becenko duo places third at Madge Lake Walleye Cup

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚 am genuinely sorry that someone felt a particular story was missed,鈥 said James Turner, an organizer.

鈥淚n the tournament press release following an event, I don鈥檛 highlight the success of the 鈥榣ocal teams鈥 versus everyone else, because it鈥檚 my job to be impartial,鈥 Turner said. 鈥淚 do, however, make the top local team the focus of the press release for the following year鈥檚 tournament.鈥

The account in the Times two weeks ago did not say that former Kamsack resident Vaughn Binkley of Greenwater Lake and his son-in-law Glen Becenko of Kamsack placed third in the competition.

鈥淭heir combined weight of 12.74 lbs. was just 1.23 lbs. out of first place,鈥 Turner said. 鈥淰aughn and Glen took home a cheque for $1,500, plus $100 in gift certificates from the Iron Grill Steakhouse as the top local team.鈥
