The Yorkton Kinsmen AA Midget Terriers rolled up an 8-1 win Saturday and 7-2 win Sunday at the Farrell Agencies Arena over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors.

The win left the Terriers with an 18-6-2-2 record and 40 points, one point back of the second place Regina Rangers and two back of 麻豆传媒AV Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League, Midget Division leading Estevan.

As for Sunday鈥檚 win, Terrier head coach Brad Haberman said the results were about what should have transpired.

鈥淭hey鈥檙e a last place team, (14 points),鈥 he noted. 鈥淚f the guys were into the game and put in a proper effort you should get the results that you want.鈥

The Terriers scored first, and led after one period, then took control with a late second period marker before salting away a 7-2 win in the third.

鈥淲e鈥檙e a hard-working club,鈥 said Haberman. 鈥溾 We took it to them for 18-minutes, but only had one-goal.鈥

Overall, Haberman said he is happy with the way the team has jelled as the season has progressed.

鈥淚鈥檓 fairly happy with where we鈥檙e at,鈥 he said, as he looks ahead to the final eight games of the regular season.

Haberman said the first nine games of the season the AA Midget Terriers struggled to be consistent, winning three, losing three and heading to overtime three times.

鈥淚t took us some time to get rolling 鈥 to get our feet under us,鈥 said Haberman.

And then the team headed to a tournament in Prince Albert, where the young team, there are nine first-year Midgets, came together. That was important because as defending league champions there are not many easy games for the Terriers.

鈥淲e鈥檝e kind of got a target on our back,鈥 said Haberman.

In terms of hard-working, Haberman said he generally 鈥渏ust roll my lines out the door,鈥 adding he shares penalty kill and powerplay time among his 17 skaters pretty evenly too.
