Saturday night saw the nothing but green at the Yorkton Ag Pavilion as the Saskatchewan Roughriders Block Party drew in a huge crowd.聽

There was food, drinks, games, inflatables and so much more for people to enjoy.聽

Also in attendance were four Roughriders 鈥 Jovon Johnson, Christion Jones, Caleb Holley and Eddie Steele 鈥 who took part in meet and greets and an on-stage Q&A period.聽

Darcy Zaharia was one of the organizers of the event, and he said they were happily on board when they heard the party was coming to Yorkton.

He said the organizers in Yorkton got to choose where the funds raised from the event would go, and they chose Yorkton Minor Football.

鈥淚t goes hand-in-hand with the Riders,鈥 he offered.

With tons of young kids at Saturday鈥檚 event, Zaharia said it was great for them to see some of the professional football players in their home city.

鈥淭he Yorkton Minor Football program keeps snowballing and growing, and the programs are getting better and better,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 think the kids seeing pro athletes up there and seeing what it takes to get there, I think it gives them a bit of inspiration.鈥
