SASKATOON — Saskatoon Police have arrested and charged two people in connection to a 2015 homicide.
Investigators with the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crimes Section have charged two people in relation to the death of Danil Tsannie on April 1, 2015. The 16 year old was found deceased from a gunshot wound outside a residence in the 100 block of Avenue I North. Investigators found that he had arrived at that residence after midnight with the intention of spending the night.
Through investigation, two persons of interest were identified. They were arrested Tuesday and are now facing charges of first-degree murder.
A 27-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were to appear in provincial court Feb. 16.
Danil, at the time of his death, was involved in a gang lifestyle. This gang lifestyle impacted the investigation in its initial stages with an unwillingness of his gang associates to come forward and speak to police. However, with the passage of time, many people have come forward who were affected by Danil’s death and a better picture has emerged as to what occurred on April 1, 2015.
