SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Police Service Traffic Section's Collision Analyst Unit continues to investigate the fatal collision that occurred on Sept. 9, and involved a nine-year-old girl on a scooter and a Ford pickup truck driven by a 27-year-old woman.

The unit is analyzing data collected from the scene to determine what factors existed to cause the collision in the 600 Block of 33rd Street West

SPS says traffic collision investigations are highly specialized and involve a variety of investigative techniques including reconstruction, witness interviews and forensic laboratory testing. The utilization of science can mean a lengthy investigation.

At this time the Traffic Section is not able to provide a timeline as to when a conclusion will be reached, says SPS, adding updates will be provided when information becomes available.
