SASKATOON - Two people were arrested and charged Thursday night following an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service Guns & Gangs Unit.
Investigators received information that individuals in a residence in the 200 block of Laurentian Drive were trafficking drugs and in possession of weapons. As a result, a search warrant was executed by the Tactical Support Unit at approximately 10:30 p.m., Sept. 2. Two men were arrested without incident.
Police located and seized two firearms (one of which was loaded), prescription pills, an air pellet rifle, and various ammunition.
A 59-year-old man is charged with Careless Use of Firearm (x2), Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x2), Prohibited Possession of Firearm (x2), Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, and Prohibited Possession of Ammunition.
The second male, 51 years old, who was arrested at the home on Laurentian Drive was found to have outstanding warrants.
A traffic stop was also initiated in relation to this investigation and a 60-year-old woman was arrested. She is charged with Careless Use of a Firearm (x2), Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x2), and Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition.
