Apparently, some people just aren’t getting the message that the SkyTrail walking bridge in Outlook is closed for a reason.
That reason is that the once-popular tourist attraction is unsafe for public usage, stemming from a number of issues that have damaged the overall integrity of the structure. Those issues are why it has been closed since late 2013.
However, as learned at recent town council meetings, the warning signs, locked gates and panel of fencing don’t seem to be stopping some from finding ways to continue accessing the bridge. With that in mind, additional fencing was recently installed in the east-side foyer by Nordic Fencing, completely encompassing the main entrance; even adding barbed wire at the top for added security.
With the added fencing, the town hopes that the public will get the message that the immediate SkyTrail area isn’t to be accessed.
