A Kamsack woman celebrated her 100th birthday at a reception at Eaglestone Lodge on Saturday.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Hilda McLean, who was born in Kamsack on August 6, 1916, celebrated her birthday at the Lodge with family and friends.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth Bennett, Hilda married Ken McLean in 1985 after having spent considerable time as a single parent with four children: two sons, Barry and David Klapatiuk, who are now deceased, and two daughters, Joan Belay of Regina and Shirley Achtemichuk of Good Spirit Lake.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Her husband died in 2012.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 She has seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淪he was a hard worker,鈥� her daughter, Shirley said, adding that for a long while she had been employed as the caretaker at the Kamsack branch of the Bank of Montreal.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 She was an avid curler, played shuffleboard, enjoyed gardening and she and her husband Ken traveled in Canada and USA, most often on bus tours.
