Heavy Rainfall Floods Outlook Streets

Outlook and the surrounding area got a small reprieve from the sweltering summer heat early last week as rainfall finally made an appearance in the region.

As it turned out, the rain that arrived on Tuesday evening, July 11 made its presence known in quick, soaking fashion.  The torrential downpour resulted in a number of areas in Outlook becoming flooded as town workers were dispatched to remedy the watery situation.  Spots on Saskatchewan Avenue saw some deep puddles, and the portion of Railway Avenue in front of the museum was quickly overcome with the rainfall; a typical occurrence whenever the rain is particularly lengthy and heavy.

The makeshift ponds of pooled rainwater didn’t seem to deter motorists in town, with several of them actually gunning the gas and creating waves.

The water was leveled out and streets became visible again after only a short time, owing to the efforts of town workers.

In the meantime, the weather resumed to warm and sunny temperatures following the much-needed ‘drink’ from the rain, and at the beginning of this week, the air quality was beginning to become affected due to the wildfires raging in British Columbia.
