John and Judy Talbot celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary quietly with their twins, daughter, Jeanette and Ed Boyechko, and son, James and Vivian Talbot, on Sunday afternoon in the chapel of the Esterhazy Centennial Special Care Home.

They were married in Dubuc United Church sixty-five years ago on June 11, 1948 and they had a wedding dance in the brand new Memorial Hall. Their wedding dance was the first wedding dance in the new hall that was built as a memorial to the young men and women who had gone to war during WWI and WWII. The couple farmed for the first few years of married life and then John went to work as the patrol operator for the RM of Grayson #184. At 66, John retired from the RM but kept farming until after his 80th birthday, working with son, Jim, and grandson, Shane Talbot.

Judy kept busy with craft sales, Royal Canadian Legion, church and singing in the choir, collecting the news and reporting for the papers in Esterhazy, Melville and Yorkton. Together they had a lovely vegetable garden and flower beds. They both were very active in the community and took part in many activities, committees and even town council.

They are the proud grandparents of 5 and also have 7 great-grandchildren. The couple have moved into Esterhazy for health issues where Judy is still active at the Sumner Place activities and John resides at the care home. Everyone back home in Dubuc sends congratulations and best wishes to you both, John and Judy, and hope you had a happy celebration.

Get well quick wishes go out to Jade Stadel and her neighbour down the street, Gladys Smith. Hope you are both feeling much better by the time you're reading this.

Best wishes go out to Michael Elson and Jade Michael who were married June 15 in Saskatoon. Proud grandma, Doris (Letestu) Krepakevitch from Yorkton; mom, Charlene Letestu Michael of Saskatoon; dad, Derry Michael from the Hilltop District; and Jade's brothers, Kelly and Shaun, were all guests at the wedding. Congratulations, Michael and Jade, and may you have many happy years of wedded bliss!

Two 6 and 7 year old Esterhazy mixed ball teams (both boys and girls) played against each other at the PJ Gillan School ball diamonds on Monday. They played the game and when one little girl was asked what the score was she knew the numbers but had no idea which team had which score and who the winner was! They obviously were having a lot of fun as were the spectators who watched.

The Esterhazy Bulls Squirt ball team (10 & 11 year old boys) played against Moosomin last Monday and after a tough fought battle, Moosomin came out victorious. On Wednesday, the Bulls motored to Maryfield and managed to squeak out a one run win. The Bulls will be playing in the leaque playoffs being held in Wapella on Saturday.
