Sympathy is extended from Dubuc and community friends and neighbours to Fred and Terri Marshall and their family on the passing of Fred's father, Raymond Fred Marshall, on Aug. 7 at Grand View Manor in Berwick, Nova Scotia at the age of 76. Funeral services were held on Aug. 11 in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. Raymond worked hard cutting his own pulpwood and logs, and from his Maple trees, he made syrup. He was a farmer, school bus driver, truck driver, avid fisherman and hunter. His favorite pastimes included playing cards and crokinole.

Get well quick wishes to Rienny Kulcsar of Yorkton. Hope you are recuperating nicely at home and will be out doing the chores again in no time.

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Jessie Stokes, a long-time resident of our community. Sincere condolences go out to her daughter, Glenda and Don Bell, grandson, Darrell and Jacquie Bell and their family. Jessie was born Aug. 16, 1911 and died Aug. 11, 2012 just 5 days short of her 101st birthday. She came from Lumsden in 1933 to teach at Sprucedale School, 5 miles North of town. She married Harry Stokes and they had one daughter, Glenda. Jessie taught all her life at several schools, at church, Sunday School and CGIT, 4-H, and, in retirement, she taught life lessons to those who shared her company. She will be missed - she was an active member of the community. Funeral service was held in the Dubuc Worship Centre Aug. 15 followed by a lunch at the Memorial Hall.
