B.C. woman killed in collision on Highway 16

Highway 16 was closed during the initial investigation but has since re-opened.

DAFOE – A British Columbia woman has been killed on Saskatchewan Highway 16.

On Sept. 20 at approximately 8:50 p.m., Wynyard RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 16 about two kilometers north of Dafoe.

Officers responded along with local fire and EMS. Investigation determined a semi and truck collided. The driver and sole occupant of the truck was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 53-year-old female from north Vancouver, B.C. Her family has been notified.

The driver of the semi was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Highway 16 was closed during the initial investigation but has since re-opened. A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist attended. Wynyard RCMP continue to investigate in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
