Polaris quad stolen in Springside

Theft of quad Yorkton Rural RCMP report that during the daylight hours on Wednesday, May 26th, a black Polaris Quad model 800 was taken from 508 Taylor Avenue in Springside Saskatchewan. The value of this Quad is approximately $5800.00.

Theft of quadYorkton Rural RCMP report that during the daylight hours on Wednesday, May 26th, a black Polaris Quad model 800 was taken from 508 Taylor Avenue in Springside Saskatchewan. The value of this Quad is approximately $5800.00. Vandal(s) removed the Quad from the owner's property. This Quad may also be missing the side panels and is equipped with linkage for a front blade application.

Yorkton missing personOn May 31st at approximately 5:45 pm, Cassandra COOK, 19 years of age, was reported missing to the RCMP Yorkton Municipal Detachment. COOK who ran away from her residence in Yorkton, SK., may be emotionally distressed, and is known to frequent between Yorkton, SK and Brandon, MB.

Cassandra COOK was last seen wearing, a black t-shirt with blue horizontal stripes, a black coat with red stitching, blue jeans and a black "NY" ball cap. She is approx 6 feet tall, weighs approximately 163 pounds, dark skin tone and short hair. COOK has a tattoo of "Sponge Bob with KC" on her right upper arm, a tattoo of the letter "G" on her left forearm, a tattoo of a "paw" on her left middle finger. She also has scars on her right cheek under her eye, on her right thumb and a scar on her left upper arm.

Motor vehicle collisionThe Yorkton Municipal RCMP Detachment along with Yorkton Fire Protection Services and Yorkton EMS responded to a collision at the intersection of Broadway Street West and Gladstone Avenue in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. At approximately 1:05 p.m. on Saturday June 12, a westbound pickup truck on Broadway Avenue went through the intersection up onto the center meridian colliding with the camera sensor pole. The pickup truck suffered extensive front end damage and the pole was knocked off its footings coming to rest in the eastbound turning lane. The driver and lone occupant of the truck was taken to the Yorkton Regional Health Center with undetermined injuries.

City of Yorkton Employees and Sask Power were called to assist in shutting off power to the pole before the truck could be safely removed. All westbound traffic on Broadway was diverted during the investigation and clean up of the scene. An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst is assisting in this investigation which is ongoing in an effort to determine the cause of the collision.

Drug seizureOn Friday June 11 at approximately 10:20 p.m. the Yorkton Municipal RCMP Detachment conducted a traffic stop regarding offences under the Traffic Safety Act. A small amount of cannabis marihuana and a large amount of cash were located in the vehicle. During the course of the investigation that followed this traffic stop, a search was conducted on a residence in Yorkton, Sk and a further amount of cannabis marihuana and psilocybin were seized.

A 29 year old male from Yorkton, Saskatchewan has been arrested and will be making a court appearance on Monday June 14, 2010 on a number of charges:Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Sec 5(2) CDSA (2 counts)Possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000 - Sec 355(b) CCOperate an Unregistered Motor Vehicle - Sec 57(1) TSADrive without a valid drivers licence - Sec 32(1) TSADisplay an unauthorized plate - Sec 192(1) TSA

The Yorkton Municipal RCMP Detachment worked in conjunction with the Yorkton District General Investigation Section, Yorkton Police Dog Service, Yorkton Rural RCMP Detachment and the Regina Integrated Drug Unit on this investigation.
