In this situation, the use of hand sanitizers alone is not as effective as washing with soap and water. The Medical Health Officer for the Sunrise Health Region reminds those involved in cleaning up that it is important to ensure their tetanus vaccination status is up to date. Adults should update their tetanus vaccine booster once every 10 years.
