Yorkton Council approved a tender for the City's 2010 concrete curb, gutters and sidewalks program.
"Tenders were received on May 13, 2010 for the 2010 Concrete Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk Program with three bids received. The work being performed in Riverside Meadows - Phase II and Yellowhead Commercial are part of the capital land development for these subdivisions," explained Fran Brimacombe, manager of engineering with the City.
During 2009 the City installed similar quantities of work, said Brimacombe, and prices this year are slightly lower.
Council unanimously supported a motion with authorized City administration "to proceed with awarding the contract for the 2010 Concrete Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk Program to the low bid received from Mid-West Concrete & Paving Stone Ltd. in the amount of $519,216.34 including G.S.T."
