Armed robbery under investigation

Yorkton RCMP are investigating an armed robbery that happened late Thursday, June 3rd.

Yorkton RCMP are investigating an armed robbery that happened late Thursday, June 3rd.The city detachment responded to a complaint in the late evening hours and found that two fully masked, male culprits entered a local business on the 100 block of Broadway Street.

The men were armed with a long barreled firearm and robbed the business of cash.

The two culprits fled the scene on foot. The employee working inside the business was not injured.

City RCMP were not able to provide any further detail, as they are still following up on leads. The matter remains under investigation.

The Yorkton Rural Detachment, Melville Detachment, Yorkton Police Dog Services, Yorkton Forensic Identification Services and the Yorkton District GIS have all assisted in the investigation.
