WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn’s new art exhibit features Wilbur Sargunaraj’s book Exploring CQ that sheds a light on cultural intelligence to help people build meaningful relationships with people from different cultures.
Sargunaraj uses humorous stories from his travels to explore cultural values, cultural clusters, and the subtleties of unconscious bias.
“I thought Weyburn could really benefit from an exhibition like Wilbur’s because it’s all about understanding cultural differences and Weyburn has had a change in demographics the last 15 years,” said Regan Lanning, curator/arts co-ordinator for the City of Weyburn in a phone interview on April 8.
The exhibition at the Weyburn Art Gallery opened on April 4 and will run until the end of June.
Sargunaraj is a musician, speaker, and cultural intelligence facilitator based in Treaty 6 Territory, Canada and India. He has cross-cultural experience and a love of connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, said Sargunaraj in a media release.
Sargunaraj has pioneered a series of interactive and ground-breaking CQ concert events, exhibitions and workshops.
His book is an invitation to confront our fears, move beyond tolerance, and embrace learning from others as we foster genuine connections across cultural divides.
