REGINA - A man has been charged following a weapons complaint in Regina.
On Feb. 22 at approximately 6:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to a complex in the 1100 block of Broadway Avenue for reports of a weapons offence.
Information received indicated two males were inside the building with a firearm.
Shortly after, the suspects were seen entering a taxi, which drove away.
Officers located the taxi on Broadway Avenue and conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
A search of the vehicle revealed one shotgun.
Both suspects were arrested without incident.
As a result of this investigation, an 18-year-old man, from Regina, is charged with: unauthorized possession of a firearm; carrying a concealed weapon; possession of a weapon; possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order x2; failure to comply with disposition; unauthorized possession of a prohibited device in a motor vehicle; and careless storage of a firearm.
The accused made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on Feb. 24.
