Pedestrian killed: Moose Jaw RCMP investigating collision

Investigators ask that anyone with information, or who saw a male pedestrian in the area during the evening of Aug. 11, contact Moose Jaw RCMP.

MORTLACH - Police identified the person struck by a vehicle on Highway 1 Sunday night as a 32-year-old from Swift Current. His family has been notified.

On Aug. 11 at approximately 9:50 p.m., Moose Jaw RCMP received a report of a collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 1 near Mortlach.

Officers determined that a vehicle had struck a male pedestrian, who was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. Police say they are working to identify the male and no further details can be provided about them at this time.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene.

The westbound lanes of Highway 1 were closed during initial investigation but have since re-opened. Moose Jaw RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
