The Moose Jaw Canucks are heading into the Baseball Regina 11U AA league playoffs with a perfect 20-0 record.

MOOSEJAWTODAY.COM -- If everything goes the way it has all season for the Moose Jaw Canucks in the Baseball Regina 11U AA league playoffs this weekend, they could be on their way to something special indeed.

The Canucks put together as dominant a run as any baseball team from Canada’s Most Notorious City has had in recent years, stringing together a 20-0 record while outscoring their opponents 273-102 in the process -- with their 171-run differential almost 100 runs better than the second-place Swift Current 57’s

The playoffs are always a different animal, though, and the Canucks will undoubtedly need to be sharp this weekend to achieve their goal of perfection.

The Canucks open their run on Friday night with their first round robin game against the White Butte Broncos Blue, who come into the playoffs with a 7-8-3 record . The teams faced each other twice in the regular season, with Moose Jaw taking a 9-8 win back on May 25 and rolling to an 11-4 win on June 26.

The Canucks then face the Â鶹´«Ã½AVey Eagles on Saturday afternoon, with the Eagles entering the postseason with a 8-12-0 record. The teams played a doubleheader on June 22, with Moose Jaw taking a pair of comfortable victories with an 18-6 win in the opener and 14-5 win in game two.

The playoff tournament runs throughout the weekend, with the championship final at 12 p.m. at Regina Pacer Park.

Moose Jaw will also be among the teams to watch in the 15U AA division after putting together a 12-7-1 mark in the regular season.

They play their first game on Friday night against the 6-13-1 Regina White Sox. The Canucks won the first meeting between the teams 16-7 on May 14 and tied 12-12 two days later before rolling to a 14-2 win on June 13.

Next up will be the 9-11-0 Regina Athletics on Saturday morning, who the Canucks took three games from during the regular season -- an 11-6 win on May 18 followed by 7-6 and 7-5 wins during a doubleheader on May 25.

Moose Jaw then wraps up their round robin Saturday afternoon against the 11-9-0 Weyburn Beavers, who defeated the Canucks 7-1 on May 4 and 11-4 on June 9.

The U15 AA gold medal game takes place Sunday at 12 p.m. at Regina Lion’s Park.
