Concession service returns to 15 Wing's arena after four years thanks to local entrepreneur

C+C Concessions is thrilled to announce the official opening of its second business location at 15 Wing Moose Jaw’s Red Knight Arena, as local entrepreneur Melina Fulton continues to serve her signature fries, burgers, and wraps

C+C Concessions is thrilled to announce the official opening of its second business location at 15 Wing Moose Jaw’s Red Knight Arena, as local entrepreneur Melina Fulton continues to serve a steady influx of satisfied customers in her mission to provide top-quality food wherever there’s a need.

The second location was formally announced May 15 and provides the same freshly cut and never frozen home-style fries, locally sourced homemade burgers and more to complement the original concession at the Exhibition Grounds.

“After four years (without a concession at the base) we’re excited to open up the kitchen at the Red Knight Arena,” announced Fulton, owner of C+C Concessions.

Fulton’s decision to expand follows the success of her . Almost immediately after opening, her dream was realized as upwards of 400 daily orders poured in during the 2023 Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association’s provincial championships.

Fulton describes the concession as providing “homemade restaurant-style food at concession prices, with a little bit of everything for everyone.”

The business thrives on Fulton’s many years of experience managing, serving, and preparing food in the restaurant industry, her friendly customer service, and the enterprise is dedicated to her two children – Clara and Cooper – who the business is named after.

The decision to expand to the Red Knight Arena came after Fulton, herself a hockey parent, found the distinct lack of food including warm meal options during games and practices to be frustrating.

“I wanted to have food options for people who are out there for sports,” she explained.

In light of the new expansion, Fulton said she doesn’t have any plans to expand the business further but stated that she’s “always looking to grow” if the right opportunity presents itself. Her vision is to remain centred in Moose Jaw and slowly grow the business as the need arises.

The concession is renowned for its home-style fries, and she said some of her current best-selling items include the homemade ultimate burger and the chicken bacon ranch wraps.

Fulton never disclosed the “secret sauce” behind her delicious food options, but she has revealed a few details about how it’s prepared. Everything is made in house from fresh, locally sourced ingredients including the beef for her homemade burger patties. The fries are made from fresh potatoes which are never frozen and cut just before they’re served.

The concession provides far more than just hotdogs and sodas of course. With home-style wraps, paninis, breakfast bowls, and more, the menu seeks to provide a quality dining experience and both locations provide ample seating for the entire family.

“Even though it’s a concession, you can still come out and sit at the table,” Fulton said. “Feel free to bring your family out for a restaurant-style meal for half the cost.”

C+C Concessions currently has two business locations. One is at the Golden Mile Arena in the Exhibition Grounds located at 250 Thatcher Drive, and the Red Knight Arena is located along North Battleford Street West at 15 Wing Moose Jaw.

The concession’s Red Knight Arena location is open for lunch Monday – Friday between the hours of 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., whereas C+C Concessions’ original location at the Golden Mile Arena is only open during specific events.

Evening hours for the Red Knight Arena location depend on what’s happening at the rink, and Fulton aims to provide concession services whenever it’s in use.
