WEYBURN - There are plans later this month for a flag to be raised at Weyburn City Hall to promote Anti-Racism Day.

Anti-Racism Day falls on Tuesday, March 25. The group Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast Advocates Inc. has applied to Weyburn City Council to have a flag raising event, and administration had made a recommendation for approval by council at their March 10 meeting.

According to a city memo the flag is titled "Share Your Heart," and according to a city memo it was created by an eight -year-old Vietnamese child from Weyburn who wanted to express her vision of a world without racism. The design features hands cradling the Earth, symbolizing unity and care, alongside a red heart with the message "Love sees no color,” surrounded by diverse individuals standing together.

The memo states that the flag meets the requirements of the Flag Raising Policy, as Anti-Racism Day is recognized by the Federal Government.
