WEYBURN – The nominations are open for the YF Wives’ Women of Distinction Awards, with the deadline of Sunday, March 31.
There are four categories of awards for prospective recipients.
They include the Weyburn Credit Union Workplace Excellence Award; the YF Wives Community Service Award; the Access Communications Exceptional Entrepreneur Award; and the Weyburn Oilwomen’s Young Woman of Distinction Award.
The Workplace Excellence Award is presented to a woman who supports the diverse needs of the workplace, is a role model in best workplace practices, is progressive to employee needs, supports the advancement of others, fosters professional development and promotes healthy lifestyles.
The Community Service Award will be presented to a woman who, as an unpaid volunteer, mentors and inspires others by her involvement with community programs and organizations.
She has shown her dedication to enrich the community, and strengthens volunteer participation by creating, participating in or adapting programs to meet community needs.
The Exceptional Entrepreneur Award is presented to a woman who has successfully launched a business, product or service and remains active in the business. She has exceptional leadership, creativity and ingenuity and has taken an innovative approach to solving a problem, filling a need or breaking into a new market.
The Young Woman of Distinction award is presented to a young woman between the ages of 18-30 who has made a significant contribution to the life of her community.
She has outstanding leadership, has inspired her peers to follow her example, and has shown maturity, perseverance, innovation and compassion.
All nominees for these categories must be 18 years of age or older, and must be living in Weyburn or within a 50-km radius of the city.
The awards gala will be held on May 3, and tickets for the gala will be available in mid-April. Tickets are provided for the nominee and one guest, and nominees will be contacted about purchasing additional tickets prior to the public sale.
