Alida weekly news - Haunted House continues

Events happening this weekend

ALIDA -The Alida Haunted House and Murder Mystery Room opened their doors for the first time since 2019 as COVID had shut us down in 2020. This is our 20th year in operation – the Haunted House is bigger and scarier (as some would say), the ghosts, ghouls, witches and eerie creatures are all stationed throughout the Halls of Horror. It can take anywhere from five to 10 minutes to go through, depending on the reaction of the guests – whether they’re enjoying it or are terrified.

Please do not abuse any of our spooks as they range in age from 12 to 83 – we do treasure them all. Oct. 22 was the first evening which saw 21 guests tour and approximately half of these also tackled and escaped from the Murder Room Mystery without assistance. The second evening saw an increase in number to 34 guests who arrived and survived the tour.

Twelve of these guests also tackled the Murder Mystery Room and everyone did escape. We do hope to see you this coming weekend now, come again if you wish.

Our annual Fun Fair is on Sunday, a full afternoon of fun and games for the young ones. Please remember to wear your costume, be ready to have lots of fun and win lots of goodies and treats. Everyone is to wear a mask and it’s only the ones under 12 who do not need to be fully vaccinated.

The Alida community extends condolences to Leona and Scott McKinna and family on the death of her mother Irene Pasowisty who passed away Oct. 11 at the age of 92 years at the Country Meadows Personal Care Home in Neepawa, Man.
