I hope everyone had a good long weekend and got to do whatever it was you were planning on doing or getting done. Usually this long weekend in May means camping for many of you, but it may have been on the chilly side this year.
Finally we received the much needed rain that we’ve been hoping for – during the first rain we received 1.5 inches and then later on we received another good half inch – that makes for a good 2 inches of rain, which was greatly appreciated. I know my garden and flowers surely needed the moisture and I’m sure there’s many who also needed it. Makes one feel so good to see the moisture and gives one hope that maybe the year won’t be so bad after all. I’ll put in another order for rain within another couple of weeks, at least.
Just a reminder to let you know that we are still working at the Archives & Library building trying to get things organized for the next occupant. The Alida Archives will still be housed in the building, on the north side only. But there is much work to be carried out before we can say  that one will be able to come in look things up in the archives. Wish us luck – we need a lot of it.
I mentioned that the flower pots have been put up on Centre Street – hope you have picked one out and now that the long weekend is over maybe one can safely transplant some flowers into them. And before we know it there will be pretty flowers beautifying our town.
Another reminder – for you to get your ticket for the chance to win the Sport’s Day BBQ package. It can be seen at the Post Office and tickets are available there as well as at the café and of course on-line (Facebook). The Rec. Board needs your support, and all the support will be appreciated.
Wishing the following a very Happy Birthday this coming week (first week in June) – Dorothy Desautels, Keagan Patton, Marvin Ferriss, Susanne Steffensen and Lynette Peet – hope you all ave a great day and many more to come.
I understand that the second shot for Covid will be available soon. Hubby is to receive his this coming Thursday at Redvers Pharmasave, hopefully I won’t be too far behind him. I surely can’t wait to receive this second shot and wait for a couple of weeks for it to take effect and then maybe one can begin to live normally once again.
Also wishing anyone who may be feeling under the weather or even just a bit tough – Get well soon and take care.
