After three years of qualifying as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, Minard’s Leisure World of Weyburn announced they have achieved the coveted designation of Best Managed – Gold Standard.

Deloitte announced the winners of the 2017 Canada’s Best Managed awards program, which recognizes Canadian privately-owned and managed companies that demonstrate exceptional business performance. This program highlights excellence, innovation, and the impact these private companies have on the economy.

After three consecutive years of attaining Best Managed status, winners become eligible to compete for Best Managed - Gold Standard. Gold Standard companies must display a commitment to the Best Managed program, and successfully retain their award status for four to six consecutive years.

Minard’s Leisure World is the first and only RV dealership in Canada to be recognized by Canada’s Best Managed Awards Program.

“Being the only RV Dealership in all of Canada to have ever achieved being one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, we are now even more proud to have attained Gold status. This is a team effort and we can’t express how much we appreciate our amazing staff. Great people make great companies and we are thankful for them all,” said Susan Minard, Co-CEO of Minard’s Leisure World.

She noted there is a very stringent process involved in being named as one of Canada’s best-managed companies, with an extensive application form, and a submission of the company’s finances before the company is then considered by a panel of judges.

“As a Best Managed company, we are constantly challenging ourselves to be leaders and innovators in our industry, to take calculated risks, and form smart decisions when faced with difficult situations. Our focus on skill development gives us the strength to plow ahead during tough times, and be a true example of leadership,” she added.

The company will have a celebration with staff of this honour, said Minard, pointing out it took the efforts of all the staff to reach this milestone.

“One of the most important things to note is great people make a great company. This was a team effort,” said Minard. The company has around 55 staff members currently.
