Comtrax Logistics Solutions Inc. announced the addition of Robert Bryson to its board effective immediately. As well, Comtrax has engaged the firm of Bryson Resources Inc. as a consultant to the company moving forward.
Robert Bryson has unparalleled knowledge and experience gained throughout his 32-year career in the Canadian agriculture industry. He has served on the board of directors of numerous corporate boards, managed agribusiness sectors for national grain companies across Canada, has an impressive track record in negotiation, human resource development and development and implementation of business systems. The ability to identify business opportunities as well as the capacity to understand complex business relationships are critical skills that have attributed to his success.
Over the past 15 years, Bryson has served as a director of Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited and as vice president of the P&H Grain Group. He also served as chairman and vice president of Superior Elevators ULC (a joint venture between Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited and Cargill Limited), as president and chairman of the board of Shantz Station Terminals Limited (a joint venture with three Ontario flour milling companies), as president and director of Goderich Elevators Limited, as president and chairman of the Board of G.S. Dunn Limited, and as executive chairman of NorAmera BioEnergy Inc.
Bryson managed the eastern trading and shipping business for Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited from 2001 through 2015, during which time he was active in many expansions, acquisitions and mergers of the parent company. Prior to his term with P&H, Bryson managed businesses in Eastern and Western Canada for Cargill Limited and James Richardson International Limited.
Bryson has extensive experience in negotiations and has brought to fruition hundreds of agreements in rail, marine shipping and union collective bargaining. His experience in supply chain management and transportation, especially related to Canadian rail shipping, led to him being named Supply Chain Executive of the Year by the Canadian Industrial Transportation Association in 2010. He also received an award for arbitration from the National Grain and Feed Association in 2008.
He is well known to have the ability to recognize business opportunities and to develop business plans large and small and execute to completion. Strategy planning and the execution of business plans as well as his exemplary ability to understand complex business relationships have led him to his unique understanding of business within the Canadian Agriculture sector. He is known to have the ability described as 鈥渃losure鈥, the ability to see and execute a clear solution to a problem or opportunity. This ability combined with his experience, contacts, access to information, and foresight into business has made him uniquely capable and knowledgeable in his field.
Bryson grew up on a farm in southern Manitoba and studied agriculture at the University of Manitoba and later returned to university to complete his MBA in Agribusiness at the University of Guelph. He now resides in Carman, Man.
