The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce has a number of events coming up this month, including the Farmer Appreciation Night.
First up is a workshop, entitled 鈥淔acebook for Business鈥, where businesses can learn how to set up a Facebook account exclusively for business use and build out your page in a way that promotes your brand.
This is a three-hour session from 9 a.m. to noon today, Oct. 5, at the Canalta Hotel. Registration is required for this event, as only 20 spaces are available. The cost is $50 for Chamber members.
The Municipal All Candidates Forum will be held on Monday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Weyburn Legion Hall.
The Chamber will gather election candidates together to address questions posed from Chamber members and from the public. There are two candidates running for mayor and 14 candidates for council this year.
Community Futures Sunrise is sponsoring a Chamber breakfast during Small Business Week in Saskatchewan. Sunrise staff will speak about their services that assist small businesses in the southeast region and present a short, entertaining business training DVD entitled 鈥淟eadership Feedback鈥. This will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the 麻豆传媒AVeast College new location at the Comp. Breakfast is free, but registration is required for this event.聽
The Chamber鈥檚 annual Farmer Appreciation Night banquet will be held recognize the importance of agriculture in the local economy, celebrating the hard work and dedication of local farmers and ranchers.
The banquet includes dinner, presentation of the Golden Sheaf Award, and guest speaker Marty Seymour, director of Industry and Stakeholder Relations for Farm Credit Canada.
Nominations are now open for the Golden Sheaf Award. The nomination package can be found on the Chamber website. Tickets are also available and can be ordered on the Chamber website. The event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at McKenna Hall. Tickets for Chamber members are $35.
