WEYBURN - The Credit Union Spark Centre in Weyburn will be a busy place from Friday to Sunday, Feb. 3-5, as the Weyburn Soccer Association will be hosting a 32-team winter tournament for ages from U9 up to U17-19.
Teams are coming from Swift Current, Moose Jaw and Yorkton, along with five Weyburn teams, and around 300 athletes and coaches will be here to take in the competition.
Games start up Friday evening at 6 p.m., with the U11 girls team from Weyburn playing at 6 on Field B, and on Field A, Weyburn’s U13 boys will be playing at 7 p.m., and the U13 girls will play at 8 p.m.
On Saturday, on Field A, Weyburn’s U9 team will play at 9 a.m.; the U11 girls play at noon; the U9 team plays at 3 p.m.
On Field B, the U11 boys from Weyburn will play at 8 a.m.; the Weyburn U13 girls play at 10 a.m.; the Weyburn U13 boys play at 11 a.m.; the Weyburn U11 boys play at 2 p.m.; the Weyburn U13 boys play at 5 p.m., and the U11 girls play at 6 p.m.
On Sunday, on Field A, the Weyburn U9 team plays at 8 a.m., and the Weyburn U11 girls will play at noon. In the U13 girls category, first place will play second place at 10 a.m.
On Field B, the Weyburn U13 boys plays at 9 a.m., and the Weyburn U9 team plays at noon.
The Weyburn Soccer Association will be charging admission for spectators on the upper level, at $5 for the day or $10 for the weekend.
