The Weyburn Senior Men’s Golf had their windup lunch, 2023 Award Winners and 50/50 money presentation on Thursday, with 27 golfers taking part.

WEYBURN – The Weyburn Senior Men’s Golf had their windup lunch, 2023 Award Winners and 50/50 money presentation on Thursday, with 27 golfers taking part.

The Senior Men meet every Tuesday and Thursday, playing a handicap Stratford system on Tuesdays and Skins on Thursdays, with 39 games held since the season began on May 16. There is also a Deuce Pot every week.

Lyman Sargent won the Masters division, for those 70 and over, with a total of 547 points using the Stratford rules.

Don Ruckaber won the Senior division, for those 69 and under, with 549 total points. He also won the Ken Hill Trophy as the overall senior men’s winner.

There is a 50/50 draw every game day with half the proceeds going to the Weyburn Golf Club Irrigation Project.

This year the Senior Men turned over $1,500 towards the Irrigation Project. In the last three years, the group raised $1,600 in 2021, $1,600 in 2022 and $1,500 this year, for a total of $4,700.
Presenting the money to Golf Club manager Chad Brock were treasurer Stan Runne, executive members Frank Kaip and Mickey Woodard and fundraiser chair Murray Benson.
