Weyburn Minor Ball holds season-end awards night

An awards night to recognize the top players, coaches, umps and volunteers of Weyburn Minor Ball for the 2022 season was held at Tom Laing Field.

WEYBURN - An awards night to recognize the top players, coaches, umps and volunteers of Weyburn Minor Ball for the 2022 season was held at Tom Laing Field on Sept. 25.

For the U11 Blue Jays, the MVP was Kaleb Thiessen; most improved (MI) was Harrison Baumgartner, and all-round teammate was Hayden Swayze.

For the U11 AA Beavers, the most improved player was Dawson Farrell, and the all-round teammate was Preston Walter.

For the U11 AAA Beavers, the MVP was Jase O’Hara; MI, Dax Fisher; and all-round, Liam LaCoste.

From the U11 Rebel, the MVP was Lauryn Chicoine; MI, Sawyer Tollefson; and all-round, Skyler Pederson.

The U11 Sox awarded Cale Porter as the best all-round teammate, and MI was Zeke Haider.

For the U11 Jays, the MVP was Reese Hansen; MI, Dilyn Clark, and all-round was Shelby Maurer.On the U11 Reds, the MVP was Dominik Gray; MI, Mattix Eckel; and all-round was Emerson McLaren.

For the U11 Wild provincial team, the MVP was Ella Walkeden; MI, Tenley Clark; and all-round, Henlee Benson.

For the U13 Jays, the MVP was Jillian Forseth; MI, Wylynn Treble-Wiberg; and all-round went to Paxton Adacsi.

On the U13 Blue Sox, the MVP was Payton Roth; MI, Elena Olvera; and all-round, Karis Gerle.

For the U13 Steelers, the MVP was Natalie Molde; MI, Sovannah Hack; and all-round, Alexis Jack.

On the U13 Wild, the MVP was Myra Field; MI, Brenna Verbeurgt; and all-round, Sydney Vermeulen.

On the U13 Reds, the MVP was Zack Balog; MI, Andrew Hemphill; and all-round, Weston Whitford.

For the U13 Team 3, the all-round teammate was Korbyn Peterson, and MVP was Cohen Mantei.

On the U13 AAA Beavers, the MVP was Cooper Knox; MI, Nixon Fisher; and all-round, Keaton Walter. From the U13 Cardinals, the MVP was Westyn Brown; the MI, Colton Hicks, and all-round, Daxon Doud.

For the U14 Wild, the MVP was Mykelle Doud; MI, Ava Anderson; and all-round was Mickayla Whitford.

For the U15 Reds, the MVP was Vaughn Wendel, and MI, Carson Vallier.

On the U15 Jays, the MVP was Lukas Kaufmann; MI, Seth Stadnick; and all-round, Carter Downing.

For the U15 A Beavers, the MVP was Lucas Slobodzian; MI, Cash Wilgenbusch; and all round, Brody Walter.

On the U15 AA Beavers, the MVP was Isaac McKay; MI, Brody Walter; and all-round, Austin Zackrisson. On the U17 Wild, the MVP was Lainey Levesque; MI, Grace Renner; and all-round, Camryn Greve. On the U18 A Warhawks, the MVP was Walker Doud; MI, Morgan Frail; and all-round, Brandon Morrice.

For the U18 AA Beavers, the MVP was Ben Manning; MI, Seth Deis; and the all-round teammate was Sutter Balog.

Rylan Erb was presented with the Brennan Luffman Award, and Jamie Godlonton won the Eugene Emberley Award.

The junior ump award went to Keran Seitz, and the softball ump award to Mclaren Istace. The senior ump award went to Alex Pitrie.

The softball coach of the year was Jim Swyryda, and the baseball coach of the year was Jeff Walkeden. The Weyburn Minor Ball Volunteer of the Year was Brittany Fisher.
