Weyburn Gold Wings drop pair to Regina Rebels

The Gold Wings and Rebels played as part of Radville's Hockey Day on Saturday

WEYBURN – The Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings dropped a pair of games to the Regina Rebels over the weekend.

The two teams met in Radville on Saturday as part of Radville’s Hockey Day, and the Rebels trounced the Gold Wings 8-0.

Lexi Peace was in net for the Gold Wings, saving 39 of 47 shots against her.

On Sunday afternoon, the Gold Wings hosted the Rebels at Crescent Point Place and lost by the score of 11-2.

The Gold Wings got on the scoreboard at 5:04 of the second period, with the goal by Kiley Davis and assists by Ashton Bender and Jayden Baker.

Their second goal came at 5:29 of the third period from Jacey Farr from Julianne Girardin and Jacey Ziebart. Both goals were scored on the powerplay.

The next home games for the Gold Wings will be the weekend of Jan. 22 and 23, when they host Prince Albert. The games will go at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 22, and at 1 p.m. on Jan. 23, at Crescent Point Place.
